Learn interesting facts about Lithuanian language

One word for beauty

Lithuanian doesn’t separate “handsome” and “beautiful”. The same word root is used for both genders: gražus / graži.

Double negatives

In Lithuanian, double negatives are completely normal. Example: Aš nieko nematau. Literally mean: “I don’t see nothing.” That is correct grammar.

Words order is flexible

Words can be moved around in a sentence while keeping the same meaning. Example: Aš tave myliu. Tave aš myliu. Both mean: “I love you.”
